ELECTRICAL METALLIC TUBING (EMT)
Descriptions:
- 1P’s Electrical Metallic Tubing (EMT), also commonly called thin-wall, is a listed steel raceway of circular cross section which is unthreaded.
- It is precision manufactured from high quality steel for exceptional durability and long-lasting life.
- The outside is galvanized for corrosion protection and the inside has an approved corrosion resistant organic coating.
- It combines strength with ductility, providing easy bending, cutting and joining while resisting flattening, kinking and splitting.
Application:
1P’s EMT is installed by use of set-screw or compression-type couplings and connectors. It is permitted to have an integral coupling which is comprised of an expanded, “belled” shape of tube on one end with set screws.
EMI Shielding
1P’s EMT is very effective in reducing electromagnetic field levels for encased power distribution circuits, shielding computers and other sensitive electronic equipment from the effects of electromagnetic interference.
Standards Compliance
1P’s EMT is manufacturered in accordance with ANSI C80.3 and Underwriters Laboratories Safety Standard UL 797.

- Exterior coating is pre-galvanized or hot dip galvanized for lasting exterior protection.
- Interior coating provides a smooth surface for faster wire pulling.
- Excellent mechanical protection for conductors.
- Ductility for faster and easier bending.
- Thickness of Zinc Coating for Pre-Galvanized Steel: ≥ 15 microns (One side).
- Thickness of Zinc Coating for Hot-dipped Galvanized Steel: ≥ 45 microns (One side).
- Available in trade size: 1/2" to 4”.
